"Black: Dissected & Articulated" by Maya Vivas

  • UNA Gallery 328 NW Broadway #117 Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

Join us for the inauguration of our May Show: "Black: Dissected & Articulated", a solo exhibition by Maya Vivas.

The show is comprised of a series of ceramic wall sculptures that address the black body as an object to be dissected, separated and sold.

Paralleling ideas of dissection and articulation in terms of taxidermy and ideas of the cabinet of curiosities, the work quite literally dissects, rearranges and organizes representations of internal organs.
